SouthwestAirlines

First Southwest Airlines got into trouble because they notoriously kicked Kevin Smith, a hefty director, off of a flight last year. Now a Sacramento woman claims she was asked off a flight so a hefty passenger could have two seats.

The 5″4′, 110-pound unidentified woman was removed from an early-evening Southwest flight from Las Vegas to Sacramento so a larger passenger could have an extra seat, according to the Sacramento Bee, who spoke with the local woman.

The woman, who was flying standby, had already stowed her bags and sat down only to be told she would have to deplane immediately because a late-arriving passenger required two seats. Oh, and the kicker: the person requiring two seats was only 14 years old.

“It didn’t seem right that I should have to leave to accommodate someone who had only paid for one seat,” she told the Bee. She’s even more annoyed because she says Southwest personnel berated her when she questioned the decision to boot her from the plane, though she ended up on the next flight out. “It’s small potatoes, in the scheme of things,” she says.

Airline spokeswoman Marilee McInnis agrees.

“We know this was awkward and we should have handled it better,” Southwest spokeswoman Marilee McInnis told the Bee, adding that the airline intends to apologize to the local woman.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs seems to have forgotten that his boss has already broken his central campaign promise – a “firm pledge” that “no family making less than $250,000 a year will see any form of tax increase. Not your income tax, not your payroll tax, not your capital gains taxes, not any of your taxes.”

Responding to a question during his daily press briefing today, Gibbs said, “The President believes raising taxes on the middle class during this economic time would not make a lot of economic sense.”

But President Obama has already broken his “firm pledge” at least eight times:

1. Federal Tobacco Tax Hike: On Feb. 4, 2009, just sixteen days into his presidency, Obama signed into law a 156 percent increase in the federal excise tax on tobacco– a hike of 62 cents per pack. The median income of smokers is just over $36,000.

When the tax took effect on April 1, 2009, White House spokesman Reid Cherlin tried to pull a fast one on Associated Press reporter Calvin Woodward. Cherlin falsely claimed Obama’s tax pledge applied only to “income or payroll taxes”. Cherlin said: “The president’s position throughout the campaign was that he would not raise income or payroll taxes on families making less than $250,000, and that’s a promise he has kept.” Woodward rightly wasn’t buying it (PROMISES, PROMISES: Obama Tax Pledge Up In Smoke).

Tax Increases on families making less than $250,000 didn’t stop with tobacco. Obama’s signature on the healthcare reform bill made possible the following tax increases – none of which exempt families making less than $250,000:

2. The Tax on Indoor Tanning Services took effect July 1, 2010: This provision of Obamacare imposes a new 10 percent excise tax on Americans using indoor tanning salons. The tax was tucked into the bill behind closed doors at the last minute, replacing the previous “Bo-Tax” – a proposed tax on plastic surgery. The 30 million Americans who visit tanning facilities are getting a lesson in the petty, nanny-state nature of Obamacare – every time they walk through the door. Not to mention the business owners and employees who are threatened by the tax.

3. The “Medicine Cabinet Tax” takes effect Jan. 1, 2011: Thanks to Obamacare, Americans will no longer be able to use health savings account (HSA), flexible spending account (FSA), or health reimbursement (HRA) pre-tax dollars to purchase non-prescription, over-the-counter medicines (except insulin).

4. The HSA Withdrawal Tax Hike takes effect Jan. 1, 2011: This provision of Obamacare increases the additional tax on non-medical early withdrawals from an HSA from 10 to 20 percent, disadvantaging them relative to IRAs and other tax-advantaged accounts, which remain at 10 percent.

5. The“Special Needs Kids Tax” takes effect Jan. 1, 2013: This provision of Obamacare imposes a cap on flexible spending accounts (FSAs) of $2500 (Currently, there is no federal government limit). There is one group of FSA owners for whom this new cap will be particularly cruel and onerous: parents of special needs children. There are thousands of families with special needs children in the United States, and many of them use FSAs to pay for special needs education. Tuition rates at one leading school that teaches special needs children in Washington, D.C. (National Child Research Center) can easily exceed $14,000 per year. Under tax rules, FSA dollars can be used to pay for this type of special needs education.

6. The Obamacare Medical Prosthetics and Devices Tax takes effect in January of 2013: This Obamacare tax raises the price of all medical prosthetic devices, such as pacemakers and artificial limbs. Consumers of these devices will end up paying more for these life-saving items.

7. The Medical Itemized Deductions Cap takes effect Jan. 1, 2013: Currently, those facing high medical expenses are allowed a deduction if the total cost if the expenses reduces the filer’s income by 7.5%. This provision of Obamacare imposes a threshold of 10%. This new tax will most adversely affect early retirees and the catastrophically ill.

8. The Obamacare Individual Mandate Excise Tax takes effect Jan. 1, 2014: Anyone not buying “qualifying” health insurance must pay an income surtax according to the higher of the following (page 71 of manager’s amendment updates Reid bill):

UFO Encounter, The Lubbock Lights

Unclassified document on the incident.

Unclassified document on the incident.

The Lubbock Lights were an unusual formation of lights seen over the city of Lubbock, Texas, from August-September 1951. The Lubbock Lights incident received national publicity and is regarded as one of the first great UFO cases in the United States.

The first publicized sighting of the lights occurred on August 25, 1951, at around 9 pm. Three professors from Texas Technological College (now Texas Tech University), located in Lubbock, were sitting in the backyard of one of the professor’s homes when they observed the “lights” fly overhead. A total of 20-30 lights, as bright as stars but larger in size, flew over the yard in a matter of seconds. The professors immediately ruled out meteors as a possible cause for the sightings, and as they discussed their sighting a second, similar, group of lights flew overhead.

The three professors – Dr. A.G. Oberg, chemical engineer, Dr. W.L. Ducker, a department head and petroleum engineer, and Dr. W.I. Robinson, a geologist – reported their sighting to the local newspaper, the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. Following the newspaper’s article, three women in Lubbock reported that they had observed “peculiar flashing lights” in the sky on the same night of the professor’s sightings. Dr. Carl Hemminger, a professor of German at Texas Tech, also reported seeing the objects, as did the head of the college’s journalism department.

The three professors became determined to view the objects again and perhaps discover their identity. On September 5, 1951, all three men, along with two other professors from Texas Tech, were sitting in Dr. Robinson’s frontyard when the lights flew overhead. According to Dr. Grayson Mead the lights “appeared to be about the size of a dinner plate and they were greenish-blue, slightly fluorescent in color. They were smaller than the full moon at the horizon. There were about a dozen to fifteen of these lights…they were absolutely circular…it gave all of us…an extremely eerie feeling.” Mead claimed that the lights could not have been birds, but he also admitted that “they (the lights) went over so fast…that we wished we could have had a better look.” The professors observed one formation of lights flying above a thin cloud at about 2,000 feet; this allowed them to calculate that the lights were traveling at over 600 MPH.

The Hart Photographs-
On the evening of August 30, 1951, Carl Hart, Jr., a freshman at Texas Tech, was lying in bed looking out of the window of his room when he observed a group of 18-20 white lights in a “v” formation flying overhead. Hart took a 35-mm Kodak camera and walked to the backyard of his parent’s home to see if the lights would return. Two more flights passed overhead, and Hart was able to take a total of five photos before they disappeared (Ruppelt, 100). After having the photos developed Hart took them to the offices of the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal. After examining the photos the newspaper’s editor, Jay Harris, told Hart that he would print them in the paper, but that he would “run him (Hart) out of town” if the photos were fake. When Hart assured him that the photos were genuine, Harris paid Hart $10 for the pictures. The photographs were eventually sent to newspapers around the nation, and were printed in LIFE magazine. The physics laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio analyzed the Hart photographs. After an extensive analysis and investigation of the photos, Lieutenant Edward J. Ruppelt, the supervisor of the Air Force’s Project Blue Book, released a written statement to the press that “the [Hart] photos were never proven to be hoax, but neither were they proven to be genuine. Hart has consistently maintained to this day that the photos are genuine. Curiously, the Texas Tech professors claimed that the photos did not represent what they had seen, since their objects had flown in a “u” formation instead of the “v” formation depicted in Hart’s photos.

Air Force Investigation and Controversy-
In late September 1951, Lieutenant Ruppelt read about the Lubbock Lights and decided to investigate them (Ruppelt, 98). Project Blue Book, founded in 1948 as Project Sign, was the Air Force’s official research group assigned to investigate UFO sightings. Ruppelt traveled to Lubbock and interviewed the professors, Carl Hart, and others who claimed to have witnessed the lights. Ruppelt’s conclusion at the time was that the professors had seen a type of bird called a plover (Ruppelt, 110). The city of Lubbock had installed new vapor street lights in 1951, and Ruppelt believed that the plovers, flying over Lubbock in their annual migration, were reflecting the new street lights at night. Witnesses who supported this assertion were T.E. Snider, a local farmer who on August 31, 1951 had observed some birds flying over a drive-in movie theater; the bird’s undersides were reflected in the light. Another witness, Joe Bryant, had been sitting outside his home with his wife on August 25 – the same night on which the three professors had first seen the lights. According to Bryant, he and his wife had seen a group of lights fly overhead, and then two other flights. Like the professors, they were at first baffled by the objects, but when the third group of lights passed overhead they began to circle the Bryant’s home. Mr. Bryant and his wife then noticed that the lights were actually plovers, and could hear them as well. In addition, Dr. J. Allen Hynek, a professor of astronomy and one of Project Blue Book’s scientific consultants, contacted one of the Texas Tech professors in 1959 and learned that the professor, after careful research, had concluded that he had actually been observing the plovers.

However, not everyone agreed with this explanation. William Hams, the chief photographer for the Lubbock Avalanche-Journal, took several nighttime photos of birds flying over Lubbock’s vapor street lights and found that he could not duplicate Hart’s photos – the images were too dim to be developed. Dr. J.C. Cross, the head of Texas Tech’s biology department, ruled out the possibility that birds could have caused the sightings. A game warden Ruppelt interviewed felt that the sightings could not have been caused by plovers, due to their slow speed (50 MPH) and tendency to fly in groups much smaller than the number of objects reported by eyewitnesses (Ruppelt, 102). The warden did admit that an unusually large number of plovers had been seen in the fall of 1951. Dr. Mead, who had observed the lights, strongly disputed the plover explanation: “these objects were too large for any bird…I have had enough experience hunting and I don’t know of any bird that could go this fast we would not be able to hear…to have gone as fast as this, to be birds, they would have to have been exceedingly low to disappear quite so quickly”. Curiously, in his bestselling 1956 book The Report on Unidentified Flying Objects, Ruppelt himself would come to reject the plover hypothesis, but frustratingly refrained from explaining what the lights in fact were:

“They weren’t birds, they weren’t refracted light, but they weren’t spaceships. The lights … have been positively identified as a very commonplace and easily explainable natural phenomenon. It is very unfortunate that I can’t divulge … the way the answer was found…. Telling the story would lead to [the identity of the scientist who "finally hit upon the answer"] and … I promised the man complete anonymity”.

While investigating the Lubbock Lights, Ruppelt also learned that several people in and around Lubbock claimed to have seen a “flying wing” moving over the city. Among the witnesses was the wife of Dr. Ducker, who reported that in August 1951 she had observed a “huge, soundless flying wing” pass over her house. Ruppelt knew that the US Air Force did possess a “flying wing” jet bomber, and he felt that at least some of the sightings had been caused by the bomber, although he could not explain why, according to the witnesses, the wing made no sound as it flew overhead.

The Lubbock Lights were one of the best-publicized events in American UFO history. In April 1952 LIFE magazine published a popular article about the UFO phenomenon;[1] the Lubbock Lights were a prominent feature of the article. Lieutenant (later Captain) Ruppelt devoted an entire chapter of his bestselling 1956 book to the incident (Ruppelt, 96-110). A novel, by Dr. David Wheeler, focuses on the Lubbock Lights.

In 1994, the Albuquerque-based progressive rock band Skumbaag staged a rock opera called “The Lubbock Lights- a melodrama and interpretive ballet” inspired by the 1951 sightings with music and words by John Bartlit and Wm. Craig McClelland.

The Lubbock Lights were featured prominently in the award-winning 2002 Sci Fi Channel miniseries Taken, in which one alien poses as a human in the Lubbock area for a brief period of time.

About a year ago I witnessed a UFO event, and have kept it a secret up until now. I originally thought I’d take this secret to my grave, but it has been eating at me all this time. Finally I’ve decided that someone has to know.
Let me make it clear that I simply cannot divulge any information about myself of that might possibly lead to my identification. I can’t reveal my name, location, the location of the event, nor even the exact date of the event. Let it suffice for me to say that I work on a military installation that isn’t known for ‘black projects’. As far as most people know, both on and off the installation, nothing exciting goes on here, and that’s exactly how the military wants to keep it. But the common perception about the installation and the reality of it are two different things.

I’ve been an amateur astronomer for many years, and I often take my telescopes out to a remote area of the installation in order to get away from light pollution so I can observe under nice dark skies. Technically, I’m not supposed to be doing this for security reasons (especially since the events of 9-11-01) but the security personnel only patrol the boundary fence itself. (Once you drive through the installation gate, they don’t really know if you’re driving to your workplace or someplace else.)
One night while out observing I noticed an object moving across the sky to my south. At first it looked like a satellite, but rapidly grew larger until it became very obvious that this wasn’t any satellite!

The object began hovering and began pulsating while emitting a low, barely audible hum. I just stood there with my mouth open for a few minutes, when it occurred to me to take a picture. As I went to my car to retrieve my camera, I heard the sounds of rapidly approaching aircraft. I grabbed the camera and snapped a picture when all of a sudden the roar from the approaching aircraft became deafening as if they were at very low altitude and flying directly overhead.
The UFO very suddenly shot straight up in the sky several thousand feet at fantastic speed as the aircraft passed beneath it! The aircraft were totally blacked out with no external lights on at all. The only way I spotted them was by the light given off by the hot exhaust of their engines. The aircraft came back towards the UFO a second time and once again the UFO executed a rapid vertical maneuver to avoid them. It was if the UFO was toying with them, or perhaps trying to convey the message ‘you’re out of your class, don’t mess with us.’.

The aircraft began a third pass at the UFO, this time at staggered altitude with one plane several thousand feet above the other and with their external strobe lights on. Why they decided to turn them on after flying blacked out escapes me, unless they decided that flying blacked out wasn’t giving them any particular advantage anyway and only increased their chances of colliding with each other. As to them flying at staggered altitude, perhaps this was in response to the UFO having evaded them twice with a rapid vertical maneuver. Perhaps the pilots reasoned that if the UFO evaded the low flying jet with a vertical maneuver again, then it would pass right in front of the jet flying at the higher altitude. Of course this is just speculation on my part.

As the jets approached the UFO suddenly brightened…so bright that I could barely stand to look at it with my dark-adapted eyes. Then, both aircraft fired two missiles each at the UFO! But the missiles never actually reached the UFO! The missiles simply vanished! The UFO vanished! No explosions, no sound of any impact, no nothing! One second you could see four missiles streaking across the sky, and then the missiles and the UFO were gone! It was like they just vanished into thin air!

The aircraft circled the area for about ten minutes as if they were trying to figure out what had happened. I wanted to get the hell out of there, but the aircraft gave no indication that they had spotted me yet, and I didn’t want to do anything to draw attention my way. After they finally left the area, I waited until morning twilight to drive out of the area fearing that driving out during darkness with my lights on would attract unwanted attention. I made it out of the area without being stopped by anyone.

The Obama Debt Commission’s Democrat Co-chairman Erskine Bowles and prominent GOP Senator Judd Gregg (R-N.H.) today called for a massive, $26.7 trillion tax increase on the American people.

In an interview today with ABC News, Gregg said the following:

“Everything has to be on the table – there’s no question about that,” Sen. Judd Gregg, R-N.H., said on ABC/Washington Post’s “Top Line” today. “Erskine Bowles, one of the co-chairmen of the commission, has suggested a 75-25 split — 75 percent of the savings being in spending, and 25 percent in revenues…

“I think it’s likely that there will have to be a revenue component, but it should be significantly, dramatically — and a 3-1 ratio is pretty dramatic — dramatically less than the initiatives in the spending side of the ledger.”

So, Bowles wants $3 in spending cuts for every $1 in tax hikes. Gregg agrees with this ratio. If that sounds familiar, it should–it’s the same ratio that President Reagan was snookered into in 1982’s famous TEFRA deal. Reagan reportedly called that fake spending cuts/real tax hikes “deal” the biggest mistake of his presidency.

Bowles and Gregg can only be talking about cutting $3 in promised Social Security and Medicare benefits in exchange for $1 in tax increases. In other words, 1/4 of the unfunded liabilities of Social Security and Medicare would be paid for with tax hikes. So how big is that?

According to the 2009 Social Security and Medicare Actuaries’ Report, the long-run insolvency of the Social Security and Medicare systems is $106.8 trillion (with a “t”) over the infinite horizon. To close this gap with one-quarter tax hikes is, therefore, to raise taxes by $26.7 trillion. Of course, this number is undoubtedly higher since the Obama Administration is sitting on (read: hiding) the 2010 version of the report (it’s nearly six months overdue).

This just goes to show you that whether you are Democrat or Republican, both parties have spent so much money that they feel the only way to lower the debt is by raising taxes. God help it if they decide to put a freeze on spending or do something drastic like that.

Anyone that thinks you should raise taxes, on anyone, in our current environment knows absolutely nothing about economics.

All these bozos need to be voted out of office.

As reported first by local news media here and here. “Four law-enforcement agencies are investigating the death of a man whose body was found in the trunk of a burning vehicle and who appears to have been Monroe County Election Commission chairman Jim Miller.”

“Miller’s car was discovered “fully engulfed in flames” on Sands Road around 8 p.m. Saturday by a deputy on patrol, according to the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department. Firefighters from the Christanburg Fire Department discovered the body inside the trunk.”

“Besides the sheriff’s office, the TBI, the state Bomb and Arson Department and the 10th District Attorney General’s Office are investigating the case.”

FOX News is also reporting the story today! – Body of Tennessee Election Official Found in Trunk of Burning Car

Moments after the story broke on the Internet – a poster by the name Eugene at the following IP address 24.113.153.166 – posted the following public threat against Fitzpatrick -

“So Huff and Walter have already started their violent revenge that they promised against election and court officials in Monroe County… You have just started a civil war and we WILL destroy you thug birthers. No one will be on your side when they see what murderous thugs you are.”

The IP address is not registered to a Eugene. It is registered to someone named “John Smith” in Washington State.

LCDR Walter Fitzpatrick III, who filed an election fraud report with that commissioner’s office, as well as Treason charges against Barack Obama in his local court, has since been arrested and arraigned on trumped up charges for attempting to charge Barack Obama with treason. He later charged Monroe County officials with corruption and obstruction of justice.

The news agencies who have attempted to paint Fitzpatrick and Fitzpatrick supporter Darren Huff, along with a laundry list of “potential terrorists” according to the Southern Poverty Law Center and Obama’s Department of Homeland Security, as “crackpot right-wing extremists” – have blood on their hands today.

Locals in Monroe County were beginning to come forward with additional evidence of Monroe County corruption. Under threat and scared, citizens and government whistleblowers were willing to speak only on condition of anonymity and would only come forward if guaranteed protection.

As of this report, it is unclear whether or not Mr. Miller was one of the officials willing to present evidence against local officials and law enforcement in Monroe County. But the timing and circumstances of Mr. Miller’s death certainly raises interesting questions.

As a Republican Party conservative, it is ludicrous to suggest that any so-called “right-winger” was involved, though I have little doubt that every effort will be made to pin the event on some poor unsuspecting “right-winger” somewhere. This is the (MO) of today’s political left, as indicated by another left-wing poster named Jean Gibson…

“Darren Huff (a militia member of the “Restore America Plan”) (the group that sent all the threatening letters to state governers – is likely involved in this murder. I have been monitoring far right-wing militia groups for years and have noticed a LOT of threats coming from them and birthers torward politicians in Monroe County because the courts there wouldn’t hear Walter Fitzpatricks rigged jury “indictment” of Obama … Go do some research, you’ll see that Huff and Fitzpatrick threatened revenge on Monroe County. It’s not conspiracy theory it’s fact.” – 7/19/2010 3:31 PM EDT on WBIR.com

Obot’s are immediately on the story and immediately looking to pin this on a “right-winger” when in fact the man murdered was himself a “right-winger.” The facts support nothing they say or believe, but that has never interfered with Obot propaganda.

Many of the insane online posts from Obots have already been removed or deleted from the news blogs, and rightfully so. They are groundless and dangerous… putting many lives at risk in Monroe County, not the least of which is Fitzpatrick.

This is what corruption looks like in Obot-land.

My heart goes out to the Miller family. Mr. Miller appears to be one of the “good guys” in Monroe County. The people of Monroe County must take great care to watch as events continue to unfold.

LCDR Fitzpatrick is scheduled for trial in November, after yet another election of course. The nation will be watching to see what the “investigation” into Mr. Miller’s murder turns up.

This was a Chicago style slaying if ever there was one. The people will want to know who is really responsible and why…

Third Wave of Obama’s Tax Increases

Today we are going to dig a little bit deeper into the taxes that will start taking effect as soon as January of 2011.

We will look at the third wave today.

In just six months, the largest tax hikes in the history of America will take effect. They will hit families and small businesses in three great waves on January 1, 2011:

The third great wave is the AMT or Alternative Minimum Tax:

Third Wave: The Alternative Minimum Tax and Employer Tax Hikes

When Americans prepare to file their tax returns in January of 2011, they’ll be in for a nasty surprise—the AMT won’t be held harmless, and many tax relief provisions will have expired. The major items include:

The AMT will ensnare over 28 million families, up from 4 million last year. According to the left-leaning Tax Policy Center, Congress’ failure to index the AMT will lead to an explosion of AMT taxpaying families—rising from 4 million last year to 28.5 million. These families will have to calculate their tax burdens twice, and pay taxes at the higher level. The AMT was created in 1969 to ensnare a handful of taxpayers.

Small business expensing will be slashed and 50% expensing will disappear. Small businesses can normally expense (rather than slowly-deduct, or “depreciate”) equipment purchases up to $250,000. This will be cut all the way down to $25,000. Larger businesses can expense half of their purchases of equipment. In January of 2011, all of it will have to be “depreciated.”

Taxes will be raised on all types of businesses. There are literally scores of tax hikes on business that will take place. The biggest is the loss of the “research and experimentation tax credit,” but there are many, many others. Combining high marginal tax rates with the loss of this tax relief will cost jobs.

Tax Benefits for Education and Teaching Reduced. The deduction for tuition and fees will not be available. Tax credits for education will be limited. Teachers will no longer be able to deduct classroom expenses. Coverdell Education Savings Accounts will be cut.

Employer-provided educational assistance is curtailed. The student loan interest deduction will be disallowed for hundreds of thousands of families.

Charitable Contributions from IRAs no longer allowed. Under current law, a retired person with an IRA can contribute up to $100,000 per year directly to a charity from their IRA. This contribution also counts toward an annual “required minimum distribution.” This ability will no longer be there.

Now your insurance is INCOME on your W2′s……
One of the surprises we’ll find come next year, is what follows – - a little “surprise” that 99% of us had no idea was included in the “new and improved” healthcare legislation . . . the dupes, er, dopes,
who backed this administration will be astonished!

Starting in 2011, (next year folks), your W-2 tax form sent by your employer will be increased to show the value of whatever health insurance you are given by the company. It does not matter if that’s
a private concern or governmental body of some sort. If you’re retired? So what; your gross will go up by the amount of insurance you get.

You will be required to pay taxes on a large sum of money that you have never seen. Take your tax form you just finished and see what $15,000 or $20,000 additional gross does to your tax debt. That’s
what you’ll pay next year. For many, it also puts you into a new higher bracket so it’s even worse.

This is how the government is going to buy insurance for the 15% that don’t have insurance and it’s only part of the tax increases.

Not believing this??? Here is a research of the summaries…..

On page 25 of 29: TITLE IX REVENUE PROVISIONS- SUBTITLE A: REVENUE OFFSET PROVISIONS-(sec. 9001, as modified by sec. 10901) Sec.9002 “requires employers to include in the W-2 form of each employee the
aggregate cost of applicable employer sponsored group health coverage that is excludable from the employees gross income.”

To read about our second wave which was discussed in a previous blog, you can click Here!

Stay tuned for additional write-ups on how this administration is doing their best to ruin our great country.
