Filming has started on director Peter Jackson’s production of “The Hobbit” in New Zealand.
Pre-production on the $50 million, two-movie production was plagued by problems including studio funding problems, a threatened actors’ boycott and ulcer surgery for Jackson.

The director posted a studio news release on his website Monday saying production has commenced in New Zealand on the much-anticipated project.

British actor Martin Freeman stars as hobbit Bilbo Baggins alongside Elijah Wood, Sir Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett and Orlando Bloom. The movies are based J.R.R. Tolkien’s fantasy novel about a short, hairy-footed hero.

“The Hobbit” is a prequel to “The Lord of the Rings” trilogy by Tolkien that Jackson helmed to blockbuster film success.

12 Star Wars Scenes That Will Be Glorious in 3-D

This post is dedicated for my Star Wars buddy R.B. and to all the Star Wars Geeks out there!!! I’m sure he already knows this but there may be a few Star Wars Freak Geeks that don’t. This post is for all the non-RB type people out there that don’t get Phone Alerts when anything new about Star Wars is released.

Starting in 2012, Lucasfilm will be releasing one Star Wars film per year in 3-D. And right on cue, there’s already an outcry over the fact that the first film will be The Phantom Menace. Oh, boo hoo. Look, I’m not a fan of the prequels, but those three films were absolutely made for 3-D — so why not embrace the conversion? In anticipation, here are 12 scenes from the Star Wars saga that, if I didn’t know better, were tailor-made to witness with a third dimension.

[In series-chronological order]

1. The Pod Race
sw1
I always thought this scene went on a bit too long. Then I remembered that the longer the race lasted, the less screen time Jar Jar Binks receives and the less I would have to hear Jake Lloyd speak. Regardless, this will be fantastic in 3-D.

2. Duel of the Fates
sw2
If this scene wasn’t so spliced up — intertwined with Anakin’s space battle and the Gungan ground battle — the two-on-one clash between Obi-Wan, Qui-Gon and Darth Maul might have been the best lightsaber duel, from a technical standpoint, and the second best for 3-D. Emotionally, it still doesn’t touch the battle between Luke and Vader at Cloud City.

3. Chase Through Coruscant
sw3
Attack of the Clones might be the weakest of the six films in regards to story, but it is the prettiest: Anakin and Obi-Wan chase Zam Wesell through an impossible maze of traffic and power couplings that already almost feels like it’s in 3-D.

4. Battle of Geonosis
sw4
There’s blaster fire and lightsabers everywhere! Plus, think of the fun it will be watching the audience duck as Jango Fett’s decapitated head comes flying toward them.

5. Sith’s Opening Dog Fight
sw5
Quite possibly the most underrated scene in all of the six Star Wars films. The opening to Revenge of the Sith is an absolute cluster of Republic and Separatist fighters, most of them flying right toward the screen.

6. Anakin and Obi-Wan’s Duel
sw6
And this may be the most unnecessarily convoluted scene (swinging toward each other over lava?) in the history of cinema. But! A conversation to 3-D will make this “epic clash” interesting to watch. By far, of the six films, this is the duel most ready for 3-D (i.e. lots of flying stuff).

7. The Star Destroyer
sw7
Not the most awe-inspiring of 3-D scenes on this list — but it is the most iconic. That poor Rebel Blockade Runner will look even punier next to a 3-D Star Destroyer.

8. Wedge Saves the Day
sw8
Wedge Antilles, the forgotten hero. Oh, sure, Luke Skywalker gets all the credit. And, sure, Wedge had to pull out of the final trench run. Luke even mentioned that Wedge couldn’t do any good back there with his disabled ship. And Wedge said he was sorry, give the guy a break. Regardless, Wedge saves Luke’s ass — flying right toward the camera — when Luke couldn’t shake a measly Tie-Fighter just after the assault on the Death Star was launched.

9. Luke Almost Gets Crushed
sw9
The entire Battle of Hoth will be absolute eye-candy once converted to 3-D. (We have to wait until 2016? Really?) The thought of watching an All Terrain Armored Transport’s giant front left foot come crashing down on us, as watched from Luke’s perspective, is downright frightening.

10. The Asteroid Chase
sw10
Never tell Han the odds! Sure, the chances of successfully navigating an asteroid field are 3,720 to 1, but Han Solo had an advantage that we didn’t at the time — he could see the asteroids in 3-D! Soon we will, too. Also, see the little Tie-Fighter pilot that ejected in this scene? I want to feel his pain as he’s ever so briefly floating toward me.

11. The Speeder Bike Chase
sw11
On a big screen, the speeder bike chase can already induce motion sickness. I’m looking forward to seeing that poor Biker Scout that Luke throws off the speeder bounce off that tree in 3-D.

12. It’s a Trap!
sw12
Lando is told by Admiral Ackbar that the Death Star’s shields are still up. It’s a race to turn his squadron around and fly them straight into a waiting Imperial ambush. In every “making of” type feature on the Original Trilogy, it’s this scene — of the Millennium Falcon flying right at us through a billion Tie-Fighters — that’s always cited as one of the most complicated of the first three films to complete.

33 Conspiracy Theories Proved To Be True Part 2(#17-#23)

Due to the depth and length of these conspiracies we will be breaking up the final 17 conspiracy theories into 2 parts. Here’s #17 thru #23. Enjoy!!

17.July 20, 1944 Conspiracy to Assassinate Hitler:Among another 20 some odd attempts, this one was one of the largest conspiracies involving hundreds of loyalists in the highest echelons of Hitler’s inner circle.Near the end of WWII, things were rapidly going south for Germany and the time seemed ripe for guilt-ridden Nazi officers to assassinate Hitler and overthrow his government. Colonel Henning von Tresckow recruited Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg to join the conspiracy in 1944.The plot to take out Hitler and then all of his loyal officers was called Operation Valkyrie.

The plan was to use the Continuity of Government Proceedings during an assassination on Hitler’s life to take over full control of the government in Germany. The assassination would be blamed on the Nazi SS and therefore allow Stauffenberg to take full control of all aspects of the government. It almost worked. In July 1944, Stauffenberg was promoted so that he could now start attending military strategy meetings with Hitler himself. On more than one occasion Stauffenberg planned to kill Hitler at such a meeting with a briefcase bomb, but he always held off because he also wanted to take out Hitler’s two right-hand men, Hermann Goering and Heinrich Himmler. On July 20, he went for it anyway and exploded a bomb inside Hitler’s conference room with a remote detonator. Hitler survived only minor injuries.

18.Operation Ajax: For years, Britain had a spiffy trade deal with Iran regarding their prodigious oil fields. The Anglo-Iranian Oil Company was basically a giant money machine for the Anglo half, while the Iranian half got shafted. That all changed in 1951 when Iran nationalized the AIOC and the Iranian parliament elected Mohammed Mossadegh as Prime Minister. Mossadegh was relatively secular, something that pissed of Iranian clerics, but he was also very nationalistic. He was a democratically elected, pro American figure but the West saw his nationalizing of the oil fields a communist move(something Mossadegh thought was the right of the people to profit and pay for services in the country with). Those oil fields were under the control of British Petroleum, but unfortunately Mossadegh overruled this long standing business control. The United States sent Kermit Roosevelt, FDR’s nephew and CIA coordinator in to figure out the mess.

The best he could come up with was to confront Mossadegh and have him overthrown and this was accomplished by bringing in what the agency refers to as “jackals.”The United States backed the return of the Shah of Iran, one of the most brutal dictators the country had ever seen and intentionally overthrew years before with the democratic leader, Mossadegh.Until 1979, that is, when a pissed off Iranian populace finally revolted and replaced the monarchy with an anti-West Islamic Republic. The result was a violently anti-American revolution lead by the Ayatollah Khomeini which overthrew the Shah and took hostage US Embassy workers, many of whom were involved in the plot with Kermit Roosevelt that installed the Shah. The planning for the Coup took place largely in that embassy, but Americans were told this was due to the rise of radical Islam and rise of democracy hating Muslims, which of course was far from the truth.

19.Operation Snow White:Some time during the 1970s, the Church of Scientology decided that they’d had enough.Apparently, the Church of Scientology managed to perform the largest infiltration of the United States government in history. Ever.5,000 of Scientology’s crack commandos wiretapped and burglarized various agencies. They stole hundreds of documents, mainly from the IRS. No critic was spared, and in the end, 136 organizations, agencies and foreign embassies were infiltrated.

As early as 1960, L. Ron Hubbard had proposed that Scientologists should infiltrate government departments by taking secretarial, bodyguard or other jobs. In the early 1970s, the Church of Scientology was increasingly scrutinized by US federal agencies, having already been raided by the Food and Drug Administration in 1963. The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) claimed it owed millions of dollars in taxes and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) sent agents into the organization. The Church’s response involved a publicity campaign, extensive litigation against the IRS and a program of infiltration of agency offices.

The specific branch of Scientology responsible for Operation Snow White was the Guardian’s Office. Created in 1966 by L. Ron Hubbard himself, the Guardian’s Office’s purpose was to protect the interests of Scientology. At the time of Operation Snow White, the Guardian’s Office had worldwide headquarters (Guardian’s Office WW) located at Saint Hill Manor in England. Headquarters in the United States (Guardian’s Office US) were in Los Angeles, California. A smaller office also existed in Washington, D.C. (Guardian’s Office DC) and other cities throughout the United States. Each of the Guardian Offices had five bureaus including the Information Bureau which oversaw the infiltration of the government. L. Ron Hubbard oversaw the Guardian’s Office, though it was Mary Sue Hubbard, his wife, who held the title Commodore Staff Guardian.

Several years later, in 1973, the Guardian’s Office began a massive infiltration of governments around the world, though the primary target of the operation was the United States. Worried about Scientology’s long term reputation, the Guardian’s Office decided to infiltrate Interpol in order to obtain documents relating to Scientology, as well as those connecting L. Ron Hubbard to criminal activity. This duty was handed by Jane Kember to Henning Heldt and his staff.

Around this time L. Ron Hubbard himself wrote Guardian Order 732, which called for the removal and correction of “erroneous” Scientology files. It is here that Operation Snow White has its origins. Though the order called for this to be achieved by legal means, this would quickly change. Hubbard himself would later be named by federal prosecutors as an “unindicted co-conspirator” for his part in the operation. Though extensive records of his involvement exist, many Scientologists claim his directives were misinterpreted by his followers.

Operation Snow White would be further refined by Guardian Order 1361. Addressed from Jane Kember to Heldt, Duke Snider, and Richard Weigand, GO 1361 called for, amongst other things, an infiltration of the Los Angeles and London offices of the IRS, and the Department of Justice.

While the order was specific to the IRS, the Guardian’s Office was soon recruiting their own field agents to infiltrate other governmental offices, including the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), the U.S. Coast Guard intelligence service, and the National Institute of Mental Health, among others, as well as the American Medical Association. The program called for rewards to be given for successful missions carried out by Scientologists.

Other planned elements of the operation included petitioning governments and the United Nations to charge government critics of Scientology with genocide, on the theory that official criticism of the group constituted “deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction”. One of the sentencing memoranda in the case also noted that, contrary to what the defendants claimed, the programs planned by the Guardian’s Office were not restricted to trying to remove “false reports” but included plans to plant false information—for instance, planting false records about “a cat with a pedigree name” into US security agency computers so that later “the creature holds a press conference and photographic story results.” The purpose of this plan was “to hold up the American security to ridicule, as outlined in the GO by LRH.”

The start of 1974 saw a Michael Meisner appointed Assistant Guardian for Information in the District of Columbia (AG I DC). Meisner’s responsibilities now included the implementation of all Information Bureau orders, programs, and projects within the DC area. Meisner’s supervisor at this time was Duke Snider, the Assistant Guardian for DC, or AG DC. This was the highest position in Washington’s GO office.

In July 1974 Meisner was ordered by Duke Snider to implement the previously written plan to obtain Interpol documents, which were then located in the U.S. Department of the Treasury. Meisner had more to do than just this, though, as by August he was also taking directions from a Cindy Raymond, the GO’s Collections Officer for the US, who ordered Meisner to assist her in finding a loyal Scientologist agent to gain employment at the IRS headquarters in Washington DC. This employee was to steal all documents dealing with Scientology, especially those involving current litigation by Scientology against the government. Meisner discussed this with Raymond for a period of a month before interviewing various Scientologists with no luck. A month after the order had been given, Raymond informed Meisner that she had selected Gerald Wolfe.

20.Operation Gladio:Gladio is a code name denoting the clandestine NATO “stay-behind” operation in Italy after World War II, intended to continue anti-communist resistance in the event of a Warsaw Pact invasion of Western Europe. Although Gladio specifically refers to the Italian branch of the NATO stay-behind organizations, “Operation Gladio” is used as an informal name for all stay-behind organizations, sometimes called “Super NATO”.

The role of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) in sponsoring Gladio and the extent of its activities during the Cold War era, and its relationship to right-wing terrorist attacks perpetrated in Italy during the Years of Lead and other similar clandestine operations is the subject of ongoing debate and investigation. Italy, Switzerland and Belgium have had parliamentary inquiries into the matter. What can we prove about that role?Thousands of documents, depositions and testimony as well as recorded conversations and admission by the highest levels of government in Italy. That’s about as credible as it gets, regardless of the CIA’s adamant denial it ever happened. What took place? The shooting of innocent civilians, terrorism and assassinations all blamed on leftist communists were actually apart of well coordinated, “black operations.”Black operations are typically involving activities that are highly clandestine and, often, outside of standard military protocol.

“The right hand doesn’t know what the left hand is doing.”Black ops missions often fit into the deniable category, a situation in which there is no claim of responsibility for the action, and/or a false flag operation is used to give the appearance that another actor was responsible, or – most often – black operations involve extensive arrangements so as to be able to hide the fact that the black operation ever occurred. Black military operations, or paramilitary operations, can be used by various secret services to achieve or attempt to achieve an unusually sensitive goal. The methods used in black operations are also used in unconventional warfare. Depending on the precise situation in a given case, and the level of authoritarianism of the national government or other responsible party, some tasks will be conducted as black operations, while there are usually other activities that can be admitted openly.

Black operations may include such things as assassination, sabotage, extortion, spying on allied countries or one’s own citizens, kidnapping, supporting resistance movements, torture, use of fraud to obtain funds, use of child soldiers, human experimentation, trafficking in contraband items, etc.Since 9/11, many black operations and long time unethical standings have been approved for legality in the war on terror. In other words, since September 11th, 2001, it is no a longer conspiracy for any of this to occur, a simple decision by a top level military or CIA official is enough, without oversight or even one thread of admission by the Government or Private conspirators.Much of the Black operations today are performed by private contract companies like Blackwater (now Xe).

21.The CIA Assassinates A Lot Of People (Church Committee): The Church Committee is the common term referring to the United States Senate Select Committee to Study Governmental Operations with Respect to Intelligence Activities, a U.S. Senate committee chaired by Senator Frank Church in 1975. A precursor to the U.S. Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, the committee investigated intelligence gathering for illegality by the CIA and FBI after certain activities had been revealed by the Watergate affair. The Committee uncovered, among many other things, that the CIA had violated its charter to perform only gathering of intelligence.

For example, the assassinations of Allende in Chile and Mossadegh in Iran. Assassinations against Central and South American leaders and revolutionaries, as well as Africa, Middle East and East Asia. The list was tremendous. They even declassified a “Heart Attack Gun” the Agency had made for the use of killing someone without it being detected.Cancer, car accidents, skiing accidents, suicide, boating accidents, heart attacks, and just plain being shot were common assassination methods. The hearings, although recorded in full in congressional record, the mainstream media and official policies, is still largely not taught in American schools on recent history. The American public still has no idea this was ever actually confirmed or even took place. It is common for people to still refer to any of these assassinations as a joke or made up conspiracy.

22.The New World Order:This popular conspiracy theory claims that a small group of international elites controls and manipulates governments, industry and media organisations worldwide. The primary tool they use to dominate nations is the system of central banking. They are said to have funded and in some cases caused most of the major wars of the last 200 years, primarily through carrying out false flag attacks to manipulate populations into supporting them, and have a grip on the world economy, deliberately causing inflation and depressions at will. The people behind the New World Order are thought to be international bankers, in particular the owners of the private banks in the Federal Reserve System, Bank of England and other central banks, and members of the Council on Foreign Relations, Trilateral Commission and Bilderberg Group. Now, although this conspiracy theory was ridiculed for years, it turns out that the Bilderberg does meet and requests no media coverage. They receive no media coverage. The world’s elite meet every year and it goes largely unreported, for what?

Discussions at the meetings include the economy, world affairs, war and in general, world policy. After the financial collapse, the Bilderberg played a key role in proposing that the world prepare for a new world order and have a standard world currency. This was propsed shortly after by almost all attendees of the Bilderberg meeting.During the 20th century, many statesmen, such as Woodrow Wilson and Winston Churchill, used the term “new world order” to refer to a new period of history evidencing a dramatic change in world political thought and the balance of power after World War I and World War II.

They all saw these periods as opportunities to implement idealistic or liberal proposals for global governance only in the sense of new collective efforts to identify, understand, or address worldwide problems that go beyond the capacity of individual nation-states to solve. These proposals led to the creation of international organizations, such as the United Nations and N.A.T.O., and international regimes, such as the Bretton Woods system and the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade, which were calculated both to maintain a balance of power as well as regularize cooperation between nations, in order to achieve a peaceful phase of capitalism.

In the aftermath of the two World Wars, progressives welcomed these new international organizations and regimes but argued they suffered from a democratic deficit and therefore were inadequate to not only prevent another global war but also foster global justice. American banker David Rockefeller joined the Council on Foreign Relations as its youngest-ever director in 1949 and subsequently became chairman of the board from 1970 to 1985; today he serves as honorary chairman. In 2002, Rockefeller authored his autobiography Memoirs wherein, on page 405, he wrote:

“For more than a century ideological extremists at either end of the political spectrum have seized upon well-publicized incidents … to attack the Rockefeller family for the inordinate influence they claim we wield over American political and economic institutions. Some even believe we are part of a secret cabal working against the best interests of the United States, characterizing my family and me as ‘internationalists’ and of conspiring with others around the world to build a more integrated global political and economic structure – one world, if you will. If that’s the charge, I stand guilty, and I am proud of it.”

Thus, activists around the globe formed a world federalist movement bent on creating a “real” new world order. A number of Fabian socialist intellectuals, such as British writer H. G. Wells in the 1940s, appropriated and redefined the term “new world order” as a synonym for the establishment of a full-fledged social democratic world government. In the 1960s, a great deal of right-wing conspiracist attention, by groups like the John Birch Society and the Liberty Lobby, focused on the United Nations as the vehicle for creating the “One World Government”, and contributed to a conservative movement for United States withdrawal from the U.N.. American writer Mary M. Davison, in her 1966 booklet The Profound Revolution, traced the alleged New World Order conspiracy to the creation of the U.S. Federal Reserve System in 1913 by international bankers, who she claimed later formed the Council on Foreign Relations in 1921 as the shadow government. At the time the booklet was published, “international bankers” would have been interpreted by many readers as a reference to a postulated “international banking conspiracy” masterminded by the Rothschilds and Rockefellers.American televangelist Pat Robertson with his 1991 best-selling book The New World Order became the most prominent Christian popularizer of conspiracy theories about recent American history as a theater in which Wall Street, the Federal Reserve System, Council on Foreign Relations, Bilderberg Group, and Trilateral Commission control the flow of events from behind the scenes, nudging us constantly and covertly in the direction of world government for the Antichrist.

After the turn of the century, specifically during the financial crisis of 2007–2009, many politicians and pundits, such as Gordon Brown, Henry Kissinger, and Barack Obama, used the term “new world order” in their advocacy for a Keynesian reform of the global financial system and their calls for a “New Bretton Woods”, which takes into account emerging markets such as China and India. These declarations had the unintended consequence of providing fresh fodder for New World Order conspiracism, and culminated in former Clinton administration adviser Dick Morris and conservative talk show host Sean Hannity arguing on one of his Fox News Channel programs that “conspiracy theorists were right”.

In 2009, American film directors Luke Meyer and Andrew Neel released New World Order, a critically-acclaimed documentary film which explores the world of conspiracy theorists, such as American radio host Alex Jones, who are committed to exposing and vigorously opposing what they perceive to be an emerging New World Order.

23.Kennedy Assassination – the 2nd Investigation by Congress Few People Know About, United States House of Representatives Select Committee on Assassinations (HSCA): The HSCA was established in 1976 to investigate the John F. Kennedy assassination and the Martin Luther King, Jr. assassination. The Committee investigated until 1978, and in 1979 issued its final report, concluding that President John F. Kennedy was probably assassinated by a conspiracy involving the mob, and potentially the CIA.The House Select Committee on Assassinations undertook reinvestigations of the murders of John F. Kennedy and Martin Luther King, Jr. In 1979, a single Report and twelve volumes of appendices on each assassination were published by the Congress. In the JFK case, the HSCA found that there was a “probable conspiracy,” though it was unable to determine the nature of that conspiracy or its other participants (besides Oswald).

This finding was based in part on acoustics evidence from a tape purported to record the shots, but was also based on other evidence including an investigation of Ruby’s mafia connections and potential CIA and/or FBI connections to Oswald. To this day, many conspiracy deniers are unaware that the Congressional investigation into JFK’s assassination concluded beyond any shadow of a doubt that it was a conspiracy. What made them come to this conclusion?

Aside from reading the report, many witnesses (some of whom were CIA agents and station chiefs in Dallas that morning) were killed the night before testifying. For example, George de Mohrenschildt was a petroleum geologist who befriended Lee Harvey Oswald during the months preceding the assassination of U.S. President John F. Kennedy. He also worked for the CIA.He also blew his brains out the night before he was to testify to the committee. The committee also uncovered, among many things, that Oswald left the marines where he learned how to speak fluent Russian (at the height of the cold war).He was given money by the State Department to travel to Russia where he stopped off in Japan at a top secret US Military facility. The Warren Commission even mentioned this part. What most people do not know is that he probably was working in the Cold War infiltrating the Russians as either a “dangle,” “double agent,” or “defector” of some kind.

What is interesting is that upon his return he got more money from the State Department to buy a house and work with an ex FBI Chief and CIA officials in training anti-Castro Cubans for an invasion. In Louisiana, where he was working, the CIA was involved in Operation Mongoose, Where Oswald worked under CIA Agent David Ferrie, who killed himself before testifying in a trial on the Assassination as well.Operation Mongoose worked closely with Southern Mafia figures largely because the casinos in Cuba, which were shut down after Fidel obtained control over the country, were epicenters for control on the island.

The CIA even hired the mafia to assassinate Fidel on many occasions, 3 attempts which failed are common knowledge. What is funny is that figures who worked very close with Oswald either ended up dead (over 100 of them connected to the assassination died within a few years of unusual circumstances) or they ended up in other conspiracies.

For instance, E Howard Hunt (CIA Agent) confessed to being involved in the conspiracy to assassinate Kennedy on his deathbed.E Howard Hunt was one of the Watergate Burglars.Barry Seal, who worked with Oswald and Ferrie ended up being one of the largest cocaine smugglers in the United States during Iran Contra, as a key player for the agency and informant for the DEA.There is so much more to get into, but there just isn’t enough time. Oswald’s tax returns are still classified top secret to this day. Why? Perhaps he was still getting $$ from the United States, which places him on the payroll. That money trail leads to figures, many of whom were murdered, that would have blown the story wide open. For 14 years, most didn’t know this. The HSCA investigaitons by congress went against the findings of the Warren Commission and both reports are from the same source, Congressional Committees. Which is true? Why do we only teach one to our children in school?

‘Machete’ Producers Lied About Racist Bloodbath

‘Machete’ reached the #3 spot at the box office opening weekend. But after viewing the film, it is clear that its producers lied about the extent of the film’s racial message, which includes vulgar atrocities, including the killing of a pregnant woman attempting to cross the border during one of the opening scenes. This deception about the film’s message could bring its tax incentives, worth millions in production costs, into question.

When Alex Jones expressed concern in May that a leaked script portrayed white characters as vehemently racist and wantonly murderous, or that a Latino mob is roused to take on border vigilantes in racial conflict, director Rodriguez assured Ain’t It Cool News, that he’d ‘had too much tequila,’ and that those types of scenes wouldn’t make it to the final edited version. Producer Elizabeth Avellan went on the attack just before the release, defending the tax incentives ‘Machete’ had practically already been assured. Avellan denounced the ‘uproar over the film’ as “unfounded and unnecessary,” stating there was ‘no reason for a denial of incentives’:

“A lot of people made up a lot of stuff in terms of what the movie is about and who the bad guy is,” she said. “There were a lot of things that people misconstrued … without even knowing the script and pretending they have a script.”

Now there is no doubt. Everything Jones quoted from the script was on screen in one form or another– and its tone was clear: opposition to illegal immigration is tantamount to murder, white racism and vile Machiavellian scheming. One scene that was excised from the script repeated the one-sided demonization of the Freedom Force vigilantes, who were to murder a young child on the border at the end. However, that ending was left behind for a different sequence altogether.

Reviewers like ‘Big Hollywood’ panned the film as ‘Dull, Convoluted, Racist and Anti-American,’ criticizing that: “’Machete’ offers no middle ground, no reasonable, non-racist position against wide open borders for those fleeing from what one character describes as the “personal hell” that is Mexico.”

Who the illegals fight against on screen is one thing. What their words mean is altogether something else. That’s the shell game Rodriguez plays and his racially divisive messaging goes way beyond the normal cinematic political posturing and button-pushing. And you will never see a more stereotypically racist portrayal of Southerners, who, in an obvious reference to the border Minute Men, are not only played for cheap laughs but portrayed as sub-human animals who hunt and murder illegals – kill a helpless pregnant woman and say “Welcome to America.”

Rodriguez & crew played everyone as fools, knowing full well what the film would contain. Does Texas want to subsidize the films of Robert Rodriguez and continue to give him a platform to spew divisive racially-tinted trash oriented at Hispanics and attempting to radicalize their views? Rodriguez is the face of the Texas Film Commission’s tax incentives program, and has been virtually guaranteed up to $60 million in rebate funding for a package of films.

Blood-soaked and dripping with hate

It wasn’t the extreme levels of violence or its nudity that made this film so offensive; it was the one-sided approval of Hispanic revenge killings while uniformly demonizing the actions of the white groups involved. Though the head Mexican drug lord was the ultimate enemy, he was served exclusively by white politicians and radical groups; everyone in ‘The Network’ worked against him.

What’s more, the film was marketed towards Hispanic groups, including widespread promotion throughout Latin America, featuring a poster with an image of a blood-dripping machete (the symbol of peasant uprising). Now Hollywood’s exports aren’t just American cultural hegemony, but a weaponized-subsection of radicalized Latino culture that draws in crowds by playing to Hispanic supremacy.

‘Machete’ star Danny Trejo embraced his image as the ‘the first Latino superstar’ in an interview with HipHopNation.com, stating “It’s an honor to be considered the first Latino superstar. Or I should say the first Latino action hero!” He continued:

“I think Hollywood is afraid to realize that the Latino audience is the largest that they’ve got. As long as they think that a Latino can’t carry a movie, its going to stay that way. Robert Rodriguez who is innovative and brilliant, he knows what we’ve got. The other great thing is that he put some strong Latina ladies in the movie like Michelle Rodriguez and Jessica Alba. Lindsay Lohan also stars in the movie and she might as well be Latina (laughs).”

Keep in mind that Fox 20th Century films, a division of Rupert Murdoch’s NewsCorp empire financed ‘Machete.’ Its news division pulled a story criticizing the film’s violent ‘war on immigration.’ While Fox’s film division funds ‘Machete,’ Fox News stokes heat over the Arizona immigration battle and beyond. At the same time warhawks at Fox News fumed over the Ground Zero mosque controversy, it was revealed that the mosque is financed in part by a top Fox News owner (who is Saudi) as well as many top Western philanthropies like the Ford Foundation, among others. Meanwhile Fox also funds diversity filmmaking programs.

The Ford Foundation and Rockefeller Foundation have a history of financing and subsidizing Mexican and Hispanic culture, including radical groups like La Raza. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation have not only given millions to the National Council of La Raza, but financed minority only scholarships. The Ford Foundation has also branched out into financing Hispanic and minority-oriented films, including the 2010 Sundance Institute / Ford Foundation fellowship initiative.

Why would racist, elitist eugenicists groups like these finance radical minority movements? The strategy is to divide and conquer, breaking America into bands of opposing groups.

There’s not been such an openly racist film in America since the early days of cinema where the pro-KKK ‘Birth of a Nation,’ and films featuring Charlie Chan and other “coolies” epitomized a cruder era of filmmaking full of offensive stereotypes. 70s exploitation films don’t come close to ‘Machete,’ despite inspiring much of its style. Today, such depictions from early cinema have been denounced. Why then would today’s politically-correct culture who denounce these stereotypes accept and praise a racist filmmaker who pans to the Hispanic market?

The messages in culture, including how ethnic groups are portrayed, are clearly important to discuss in our society. Propaganda has been synonymous with films since the beginning– when Soviet propagandists, like Eisenstein, and later Nazi propagandists, headed by Goebbels, used it as a weapon of cultural influence. While Rodriguez has a right to make as hateful and racist a film as he dares, the State of Texas should be hesitant to institutionalize support for his extreme views, given that the Film Commission has a policy to selectively refuse funding that depicts Texas in a bad light. The film ‘Waco’ was sent packing, so why should ‘Machete’ have Gov. Rick Perry’s blessing and budget?

Do its themes grace Texas, or glorify a ‘Reconquista’ view of the United States mainland?

In the Mexploitation film ‘Machete,’ white characters who ran with the Hispanic crew felt the need to justify their presence. “I was adopted,” one Anglo wanna-be gangster told Machete as he attempted to rally a Latino posse. Hispanics, like Jessica Alba’s character, who worked for the white system as an I.C.E. (Immigrations & Customs) officer, redeemed herself by betraying “the law” for “what’s right.”

Alba’s conversion, which ended in her rallying a crowd of migrant workers by declaring “We didn’t cross the border; the border crossed us,” was inspired by Luz. Played by Michelle Rodriguez, Luz operates a taco stand as cover for her role as head of ‘The Network,’ an underground organization that helps to transport migrants across the border and situate them within the U.S. Its influence is channeled through the pervasive myth of Luz’s alter-ego “She,” the militant female version of the revolutionary leader Che. ‘The Network’ becomes a sort of underground railroad for the plight of the immigrant, seeking refuge from the ‘Hellhole’ that is their collapsing country. In the film, that effort is thwarted by the white racist Von, who torches her headquarters while his band of vigilantes called ‘Freedom Fighters’ prepare for their next border raid to mow down helpless illegal aliens. Von & his boys also conspire with a crooked state Senator played by Robert DeNiro to construct an electrified border fence that literally fries trespassers instantly.

Let’s Get Real: Having a Healthy Food Supply is Essential (AD)

Even the non-violent parts of the film are littered with mini-lectures about the justification for immigration or on the dignity of brown people and day laborers. And while the film had plenty of humor, its stab at border issues was, as Kurt Nimmo noted, anything but satire. It is more of a racial polemic, fueled by Rodriguez’ one-sided philosophy, that declares symbolic dominance through Machete’s mythical exploits and ultimate victory.

What’s inflammatory?
- Opening scene where pregnant mother trying to cross the border is killed by DeNiro and border vigilantes to ‘prevent another anchor baby’
- A phony campaign ad for DeNiro’s Senator McLaughlin depicts hundreds of crawling worms and cockroaches while decrying the “parasite” immigrant “terrorists” crossing the border.
- ‘The Network’ of Latinos was continually virtuous while the Freedom Force, a vigilante group cast with caricatures of hillbilly trash, neo-Nazi types and fat slobs, repeatedly use terms like “wetbacks,” “cucarachas,” “parasites,” “beaners” and more.
- Freedom Fighter vigilantes regularly go out on adventures to snipe at illegals near the border and film their exploits
- A Catholic priest played by Cheech Marin is crucified by the character “Booth” who slings racist insults while nailing him to the cross
- A scene in a hospital where it is declared that illegal immigrants are usually refused emergency care, but Machete is lucky that ‘The Network’ is there to help him this time. (In reality, the cost of health care for undocumented illegal immigrants, for both emergency care, births, public education and beyond is burdensome to every Southern border state, as well as in many other areas).

24 Season and Series Finale Recap

Monday night’s two-hour finale of Fox’s “24″ is a bloody mess.

It’s that good, and yes, we expected no less.

Like “The Sopranos,” “The Shield” and other A-list crime-and-morality dramas, “24″ doesn’t pretend that the end of the show means injustice, corruption and evil can magically be made to disappear.

So the show provides some resolution to this season’s story line, which revolved around the human and moral cost of trying to craft a Middle East peace treaty.

At the same time, Monday’s finale makes it clear that counterterrorism agent Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) will always be outnumbered and outgunned in his battle to stop the bad guys.

The best Jack can do is stick his finger in the dam from time to time while he searches for the occasional ray of light.

The last time he found one of those, however, in fellow agent Renee Walker (Annie Wersching), she was promptly killed.

Renee’s death continues to set up this season’s climactic action, as a near-psychotic Jack seeks to kill everyone involved. Even if that person is a head of state.

It’s vintage Jack, an equalizer whose raw fury we understand.

“I would have accepted justice by law,” Jack says, in what could serve as a mission statement for the whole eight-season run of “24.” “But that was taken from me. [So] I am judge and jury.”

That sort of remark explains why Jack has been compared to Clint Eastwood’s justice-dealing cop Dirty Harry. Jack’s world, however, has never been as black-and-white as Harry’s, and things don’t change Monday just because the series is ending.

His adversaries include true creeps like robotic Russians and former President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin), whose every utterance makes your skin crawl. It includes good people who have lost their way, like President Allison Taylor (Cherry Jones).

He also runs with some good people who stay good, like young agent Cole Ortiz (Freddie Prinze Jr.) and loyal associate Chloe O’Brian (Mary Ann Rajskub).

The fact he and Chloe at one point are yelling threats at each other underscores how a few bad decisions at the top can poison the whole world.

So yes, the world is a mess. It’s also bloody, and while Monday’s finale may have fewer outright deaths than usual, it compensates for any shortfall in body count with nice touches like having body parts bitten off.

All props to Mike Tyson.

It shouldn’t be any major spoiler to say that in the end, neither Jack Bauer nor “24″ leaves us with any rosy illusions about saving or cleaning up the world.

Jack never stops trying to make his corner a little better, however, and in the process, he closes out “24″ the same way he ushered it in: as a fast-paced, first-rate action-adventure that pauses just long enough to show us a heart.

I believe the series finale started off very strong, but ended with a whimper. They could have had Jack go out in a blaze of glory by murdering the ex-President and Russian leader and then have the current President give him a pardon and let him ride off into the sunset as a well deserved hero. Unfortunately, they chose to take the easy way out.

It was a great series overall and I just wonder what Fox is going to come up with next to take its place. Hopefully, it will be great as 24 has been.

In what has quite possible been the best action drama series ever, the curtains will come down on the hit series 24 tonight. Be sure to tune in and find out if Jack Bauer is able to survive the season and series ending.

24 has spent the past eight seasons twisting plots in every way possible and killing off nearly every character the show has ever introduced, meaning that there’s very little the show could do in its later seasons that would surprise us, as pretty much everything was on the table.

About all we’ve really known is that the show could never kill off Kiefer Sutherland’s character Jack Bauer, because there would effectively be no show if they did. So even as most of the show’s inaugural season cast of characters now reside in a graveyard, we’ve known each time that Jack was in peril that he’d invariably survive it – even when one season closed with him in a coma.

But now that 24 is ending?

The show, known for its ever more over-the-top shockers ranging from killing off Jack’s wife to killing off at least one U.S. President, could literally do anything at the end of tonight’s series finale.

Think movie endings. Jack Bauer could die. The world could explode in a nuclear mushroom cloud. Jack and Chloe O’Brien could end up together as the last two people left on earth. Jack’s daughter Kim Bauer, one of the very few original characters still alive, could turn out to have been a terrorist all along.

Actually, the word “movie” may be the only thing that keeps the show’s bloodthirsty writers in check tonight. If longstanding rumors of a 24 movie are indeed true, then the show would need to keep Jack alive, and some semblance of a world around him for the movie to take place in. And if a 24 movie is a hundred percent certain, then we could be in for the mother of all surprises tonight – a series ending cliffhanger.

In my opinion, I do not believe the writers will kill Jack off the series finale. Jack has become the one character that everyone loves because he’s a vengeful son of bitch. Everyone that has wronged him always feels the wrath at his hands eventually.

Hopefully tonight he will ’86 an ex-president, a president and a slew of crooked bureaucrats and end the show with a bang!

Give ‘em hell Jack!

The world is watching.

Be sure to check back later for a recap of the series finale.

For six years, we’ve cheered on a complicated batch of plane crash survivors as they battled polar bears, ageless island inhabitants, time travel, the smoke monster and one another.

We’ve watched Sawyer morph from a sarcastic egomaniac to a sarcastic unlikely hero with a hardened heart of gold. We’ve cheered on Hurley as he found his confidence. We cried when Jin and Sun were finally reunited only to drown in a crippled submarine.

And we’ve been endlessly teased with a twisting labyrinth of questions as the show wound itself around in circles of mythology, faith and science fiction.

To be fair, viewers have been given the healthiest dose of answers since the show began — the origins of the Adam and Eve skeletons found in season one, the birth of the smoke monster and how Richard Alpert has remained so gorgeously ageless for centuries.

But there are still a smorgasbord of mysteries left. Will the “Lost” series finale (Sunday, May 23 at 9pm ET on ABC) be able to answer them all?

‘Lost’ Numbers: 4 8 15 16 23 42

It’s become common theory in the blogosphere that the meaning of the series of numbers, central to so many of the island’s events, may never be revealed.

The numbers — used by Hurley to win the lottery and Desmond to keep the hatch from exploding — have popped up dozens, perhaps hundreds, of times over the course of the show.

Producers have used them almost as a “Where’s Waldo” type of challenge for devoted Losties, sticking them on sports jerseys, bedside alarm clocks. They’ve even served as the flight number for the doomed plane itself.

But do we really need to know their significance? Probably not.

Origins of Jacob and the Man in Black

Sure, we found out how they came to live on the island — shocker, they’re twins! — when a recent episode revealed they had been born to a shipwrecked young mother and raised by an all-knowing woman who bashed the mother’s head in shortly after she gave birth.

But when the young castaway questioned the island woman about where she came from, the woman simply brushed her off, saying, “Every question I answer will simply lead to another question.”

It almost seemed to be a message from “Lost” producers, straight into the living rooms of the show’s fans.

But where did Mother come from? And how was she infused with the power and responsibility to keep the island safe? It’s a fate that now rests with Jack. But where did it all begin?

Be sure to check back later as we will have an indepth write-up covering the series finale.

Megan Fox Will Not be in Transformers 3

Megan Fox

Megan Fox

Megan Fox

Megan Fox

In a somewhat disappointing manner to all the horny men that love the Transformers movies and especially the sultry Megan Fox comes news that the actress will not be in the next installment of the hugely popular franchise.

Somewhere, the “Doc” is bawling his eyes out over her departure.

Michael Bay’s franchise will get a new hottie. But it’s time for Fox to drop the screaming and running and do some proper acting.

Megan Fox once suggested that appearing in Transformers movies didn’t involve much real acting. It would therefore be easy to suggest she has only herself to blame after news broke that somebody else will get to be Shia LaBoeuf’s squeeze in the next instalment of Michael Bay’s horrendous series. If your job is just to look pretty, or scream and run around on cue while hundreds of unidentifiable giant CGI machines with silly voices chicane around the screen, there are myriad actors who can provide the same service. It also possible to suggest that comparing Bay to “Hitler” may not have helped Fox’s cause.

Look around the web today and it’s clear that most bloggers think Fox’s regular ill-advised comments to the press are to blame for her departure. The consensus seems to be that Bay, himself no slouch in the foot in mouth department, simply had enough of his young star’s attitude and decided to plump for somebody new.

Such a conclusion ignores Fox’s own statement suggesting that it was she who called time on her Transformers sojourn. The truth may never be discovered, but it’s worth bearing in mind that Bay himself can allegedly be a difficult man to work with on set.

Of course, the reality of the situation is that Fox’s departure will make not one jot of difference to Transformers III. It will still be a brain-straining near three-hour journey into the mind of a director who makes films for people with the attention span of a goldfish. It will still make film critics wish that they taken the advice of their school careers advisor and opted for a job in dentistry, and it will still rack up hundreds of millions of greenbacks for studio Paramount without breaking a sweat. There will just be a different hottie in the hot seat (sources are suggesting Gemma Arterton, who can actually act, but won’t need to).

What next for Fox? Well, she’s got comic book movie Jonah Hex coming up, a western-themed action adventure starring Josh Brolin as a scarred former confederate soldier with supernatural powers. A couple of new TV spots have just been released, which don’t look too bad, but the movie itself has some bad buzz around it. Amateur reviews from test screenings have been almost universally negative, and Fox herself is coming in for some of the worst criticism. “She plays Leila, a prostitute with no back story,” wrote one disappointed fan. “All we know about her is that she saves all her money to buy a piece of land and that she and Jonah Hex have feelings for each other. Leila is really only in the movie for about 10 minutes, and [Fox's] acting was terrible.”

Hex certainly doesn’t look to be the type of film which is going to convince moviegoers or critics that Fox is the real deal as an actor. I didn’t think she was too bad at all as a snide cheerleader type who is transformed into a man-eating succubus in Diablo Cody’s Jennifer’s Body. And yet that movie failed to live up to early indications that it might be the new Heathers, largely because Fox is not possessed of anything approaching the charisma and insouciant cool of a Christian Slater.

Is there a touch of schadenfreude, or even misogyny, about the apparent mass hatred of this striking but not obviously talented young actor? Could it be that her looks are actually holding her career back? If that is the case, then she might be well-advised to do a Cameron Diaz, and find herself a couple of smart indie movies in which she can prove she has the thespian chops. Forthcoming drama Passion Play, in which Fox will star opposite Mickey Rourke, looks to be that kind of movie. And if that doesn’t work out, well … I hear they’re making a sequel to GI Joe.

Hopefully, Michael Bay will be able to bring another bad hot onboard to replace the “Foxy” one.
